HOW TO GUIDE

This will give you an idea of what space you are working with and give you a start point to add your measurements to as you go along!

Start by adding measurements of the walls by working clockwise around the room. Make sure you add on there whether you are working in inches or mm.

Go back around the room clockwise and draw a thin rectanglular box to note the position of the window. Also note the size of the:
– Window Opening,
– Size of the wall either side
– Window Height
– Window Sill height using abbreviation XXmm WH

Measure the door architrave to architrave (if applicable) or just frame to frame. Indicate whether these open inwards or outwards. If they open inwards, measure how far in they come into the room when fully open & write this on the diagram.
Please also add on & write down if you have:
– Internal Doors
– External Doors
– Patio Doors

For each wall on the diagram, mark on whether it is an internal or external by using the abbreviations “In” or “Ext”.

Draw on the diagram where your:
– Gas Pipes – oven or boiler
– Waste Pipes
– Water Pipes – sink or fridge
– Stop Tap
– Fuse Board
– Gas or Water Meters
E.g – Anything that we would need to work around!

You can denote this using the abbreviation XXmm CH
